A mother-daughter course on bullying prevention and recovery

A Emotional Self-Defence Course for Girls

How to protect your daughter from bullying (before/during/after) — and help her Bloom into who she was created to be

You want her to grow up strong, confident, and secure in who she is.

As a mom of a tween or a teen, you know these years matter more than almost any others.

Your daughter is discovering who she is, what she’s worth, and how she fits in the world — and you want to make sure she feels confident, brave, and safe while she does it. You want her to grow up feeling secure in herself—not constantly questioning if she’s “enough.”

But in today’s world, that feels harder than ever. And as a parent, you can feel how much is out of your control.

You can’t protect her from everything.

You know bullying happens younger and hits harder than ever — both online and in person.

You’ve seen it. Maybe you’ve lived it.

And now you’re wondering:

“How do I make sure my daughter doesn’t go through what I did?”
“How do I help her stay strong and kind in a world that can be so cruel?”
“Am I doing enough?”

You want her to be safe, happy, and resilient — but there’s no roadmap for how to teach that.

And most “anti-bullying” resources feel outdated, cheesy, or disconnected from what girls actually face today.

Because an assembly with a poster that says “Be Kind” isn’t going to cut it.

Why Bullying Prevention and Emotional Resilience Matter in Middle School

Without guidance, the risks are real — and they go far beyond “mean girls” or hurt feelings.

Bullying doesn’t just bruise her confidence — it can fracture her entire sense of self.

At an age when she’s just beginning to ask, “Am I enough?” — the wrong answer can take root and follow her for years.

The numbers are heartbreaking →

1 in 5 kids report being bullied in middle school.

1 in 3 girls experience anxiety symptoms by age 13.

Suicide rates among preteen and early-teen girls have risen dramatically in the last decade — often linked to social isolation and online bullying.

This isn’t about popularity or confidence.

This is about protecting her life, her spirit, and her ability to see herself the way you do — strong, good, and deeply loved.

But the good news is: this is preventable.

With the right tools, conversations, and support, you can give her the emotional armor she needs to walk through these years safely and come out stronger.

Meet Your Guide — Andi

Hi, I’m Andi, founder of Bloom Foundation and creator of this Emotional Self-Defense course. I know what it feels like to be bullied — and how long it can take to heal.

I also know what it feels like to be a mom — wanting to protect your daughter from anything that might hurt her.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve led workshops on bullying prevention and recovery, partnered with the Boys & Girls Club of America, hosted the How to Bloom Podcast, and helped hundreds of girls rebuild their confidence.

Now, I want to equip you and your daughter with the same tools — so together you can walk through this season with confidence and peace.

Introducing Bloom’s Emotional Self-Defense Course

Bloom’s Emotional Self-Defense Course equips both you and your daughter with the tools to navigate bullying, build emotional resilience, and strengthen her sense of self—before and after challenges arise.

This is about giving her a foundation she can stand on.

What You’ll Learn

You’ll walk through our 4-part framework together:

  • How to protect herself and build confidence before she’s in crisis.
She’ll learn how to set boundaries, recognize red flags, and build up her sense of self worth before anyone has a chance to tear it down.

  • What to do if she’s being bullied — and how to respond.
Practical strategies, conversation guides, and scripts for both of you, so she knows how to speak up and get help.

  • How to heal and rebuild after being hurt.
A tool kit to help her heal and recover from a bullying incident. She’ll learn how to rewrite negative thought patterns, cultivate healthy habits, surround herself with a strong community, and reconnect with joy.

  • How to turn pain into purpose.
She’ll learn how to become an ally for others against bullying, build compassionate communities, and lead with kindness.

Each module includes guided lessons along with activities, worksheets, and a shared workbook experience so that you and your daughter can actively practice what you’re learning together.

Love from past participants:

“I really resonated with the lesson of "letting go of things that locking you down" in a sense because so many times the students we work with are walking around with labels that are limiting their potential, gifts, talents and once they are freed from those labels they can discover who they were created to be.”

ELIZABETH, PROJECT KINSHIP

“Bloom Foundation provides a safe place for girls to share stories and create positive bonds through thoughtfully planned activities and guided conversation. Each component of the program has a special purpose. Bloom has made a positive impact on the girls who participated.”

Bounce back quickly when things get hard.

Keep her joy, curiosity, and spark

Choose kind, healthy friendships and future relationships.

Bloom into who she was created to be.

Because when girls learn emotional self-defense, they don’t just survive middle school —
they shine.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • That’s exactly why this course matters. Bullying doesn’t usually come with a warning, and the earlier she builds confidence, self-worth, and emotional awareness, the more prepared she’ll be if and when challenges arise. This course is about giving her a strong foundation so that she’s not figuring it out in the moment, but responding from a place of confidence.

  • Moms (or caregivers) of girls ages 10–14 who want to help their daughters navigate friendship, bullying, and identity with confidence and compassion.

  • The full course can be completed in about 3–4 hours total, but most families take a few weeks to walk through it.

The course is self-paced, so you and your daughter can move through it in a way that feels manageable for your schedule. We recommend setting aside a consistent time each week to go through a module together, complete the activities, and check in on what’s coming up for her.

The real impact comes from not just watching, but engaging, such as: having conversations, reflecting, and practicing the tools in real life. Even small, consistent moments can create meaningful change over time.

  • The course is values-based (kindness, empathy, purpose) and inclusive for all backgrounds.

  • That’s completely okay and actually very common. The course is designed with gentle prompts and guided activities that don’t force sharing but instead create a safe, low-pressure environment. Many parents find this opens the door to conversations that wouldn’t have happened otherwise.

  • You don’t have to but we do highly recommend it. This course is designed to strengthen your relationship while giving you both the language and tools to navigate these moments together. Even simply being present alongside her can make a lasting impact.

  • You’ll get easy login instructions, and everything is available on desktop, tablet, or phone.

  • Yes! You’ll have lifetime access and all future updates are included.
